NaFFAA strongly supports the Alleviating Barriers for Caregivers (ABC) Act, a bipartisan legislative effort aimed at streamlining access to essential healthcare and financial benefits for family caregivers.

With over 48 million family caregivers in the United States—many from the Filipino American community—these individuals play a critical role in ensuring that loved ones receive quality care at home. Caregivers contribute an estimated $600 billion in unpaid labor annually, yet they often face complicated paperwork, long processing times, and administrative hurdles when navigating Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and Social Security programs.

Washington, D.C. – The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) acknowledges the recent rescission of executive orders by President Donald Trump, detailed in the official statement from the White House: Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions. While we recognize the administration’s stated intent to streamline governance, specific changes have raised significant concerns within the Filipino American and broader Asian American communities.

Now, more than ever, we urge members of the Filipino American community to unite, educate, and advocate. Reach out to your local representatives, stay informed on policy changes, and stand against hate in all its forms. Together, we can continue to build a nation that celebrates diversity and ensures opportunities for all.

Meet TJ! TJ is a second generation Filipino-American boy, and a proud kuya (older brother) to his baby sister. He's learning to speak Tagalog with his grandparents, and he is so proud when he gets to put it to use when his family comes to visit from California, where his parents are from. He loves it when they all get together so he can help his mom make lumpia with all the veggies he picked, and so he can play basketball and have a dance off with his cousins.
