Planning a special date? Here are three ways to make it more enjoyable if you or your significant other are deaf:
1️⃣ Skip the crowds – Celebrate at home for a more relaxed, conversation-friendly experience.
2️⃣ Plan ahead – When making a reservation, let them know you're deaf so they can seat you in a quieter spot.
3️⃣ Use technology – If your hearing device has a Bluetooth mic, bring it along to help isolate sound.
Wishing you a love-filled and accessible Valentine’s Day! 💕

In 2024, AG Bell’s board of directors dedicated countless hours to refining our mission, values, and vision, expanding our scope to become a home for all individuals with hearing loss who use Listening and Spoken Language. This pivotal work coincides with the start of a new chapter as Dr. Howard W. Francis, MD, MBA, FACS, takes the helm as board chair for a two-year term.
Dr. Francis, a renowned neurotologist, cochlear implant surgeon, and chair at Duke University, has spent his career helping children who are deaf and hard of hearing thrive in their communities. For over a decade, he has brought his expertise and passion to AG Bell, supporting families, fostering professional collaboration, and advancing language development for children around the world.
“With AG Bell, we go beyond the clinic and classroom to enrich the lives of children and families navigating their language journey,” Dr. Francis shares. “I’m excited to lead as we continue to empower our community in new and meaningful ways.”
Here’s to building a brighter future together!
