Zaun for Senate Brad Zaun is a small businessman who slashed spending & taxes as Mayor of Urbandale, and is tested as a State Senator--dedicated to standing up for Iowans.

I grew up in this Des Moines; my family had a small farm, and my dad owned a John Deere dealership in Indianola. Today, my family and I live just blocks away from the neighborhood hardware store in Urbandale that I owned for 18 years – when I first became involved in public service. In that hardware store, I learned about the problems that every day people encounter and what it means to sign the front of a pay check.

Our local schools are pillars of our communities. As a father and grandfather, I know the importance of keeping the classroom a safe place for our children and grandchildren to learn the fundamentals. In the Iowa Senate, I have delivered the largest increase in teacher pay in Iowa history and reduced unnecessary bureaucracy to get more money into the classroom.

My wife, Dede, and I have raised our 5 children in this community. I am determined to keep it safe for our kids and grandkids. In the Iowa Senate, I will stay tough on criminals and support our law enforcement officers, because I know maintaining a safe community is the most important thing government does.

When I was a small business owner, I experienced many of the struggles small business owners face - increasingly high taxes, government red tape, and workforce challenges. In the Iowa Senate, I have been an advocate for small businesses. I'm running for re-election because I will continue the FIGHT to lower taxes and reduce the burdensome bureaucracy that prevents small businesses from expanding and creating new career opportunities.
