Missourians just legalized abortion for the first time in years. Now anti-abortion politicians like Representative Amato think the Missouri government should keep a registry of pregnant women “at risk of seeking abortion.” Your pregnancy decisions are nobody else’s business— and certainly not the business of the state government. Last month Missourians showed up in force to stop a similar bill in its tracks— it’s time to take action again! Submit your comments in OPPOSITION to HB 1579 by midnight tomorrow, Tuesday, March 25th.

*Calling all reproductive freedom supporters in St. Charles!*

St. Charles community members are jumping into action to protect Amendment 3 and our right to abortion access! Right now, Sen. Adam Schnelting from Senate District 23 in St. Charles is our state’s biggest threat to our recently re-established access to abortion care. Last month, Sen. Schnelting introduced a bill to reinstate another near total abortion ban in the Missouri Senate, SJR 33. This ban is couched in ineffective, so-called exceptions for sexual assault survivors. Despite 56% of his district voting for Amendment 3, Sen. Schnelting is ignoring his constituents and pushing for another dangerous abortion ban.

SD 23 members have drafted an open letter calling on Sen. Adam Schnelting to withdraw SJR 33 with the goal of getting 1000 signatures. As his constituents, you have this crucial opportunity to demand Sen. Schnelting withdraw SJR33 by signing this letter. In order to kill the bill, it’s critical he hears from us right now!

When Roe fell in 2022, Mayor Tishaura O. Jones stood ready to support pregnant St. Louisans when our state and country put targets on our backs for seeking abortion care and reproductive health care. Under Mayor Jones’ leadership, St. Louis became the first city, not just in Missouri, but the entire nation, to fund logistical access to abortion care along with comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum support with ARPA funds when she spearheaded the St. Louis Reproductive Equity Fund together with AAM.

The Reproductive Equity Fund allocated $3 million towards providing comprehensive support to birthing Missourians in the broad spectrum of decisions they can choose to make for their pregnancy and reproductive health outcomes. Through the development and passage of this legislation in partnership with St. Louis health care advocates, providers, and patients, Mayor Jones demonstrated her deep commitment to uplifting the voices and needs of her constituents and to ensuring the health and safety of all St. Louisans.

AAM is proud to endorse Mayor Tishaura Jones in the April 8 St. Louis Municipal Election and encourages St. Louisans to vote to retain STL’s pro-abortion champion!

As our work to ensure reproductive freedom for every Missourian grows, AAM’s political organizing interns have played instrumental roles in historic political moments in our state, including the mobilization of Missouri voters last year to win Amendment 3 and enshrine our rights to abortion and reproductive freedom in the Missouri Constitution. Our interns stand at the forefront of our movement, initiating pivotal conversations and inviting dedicated volunteers into leadership.

The internship will run from March - mid/late August 2025 and there are up to five (5) spots available.

Join our partners at Action St. Louis this Saturday to canvass to re-elect Mayor Tishaura O. Jones!

The stakes of St. Louis’ April 8 Municipal Election are clear. As we continue to defend Amendment 3 at the state level, we know our city leaders will play a critical role in how Missouri’s newly re-established abortion care and reproductive freedom, community control over policing, and other important issues will be implemented locally. Mayor Jones holds the strongest track record in taking bold action for St. Louisans’ bodily autonomy and progressive policies that make our city more safe, resilient, and community-centered.

We’ll be hitting the doors from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, so join us to push for the bright future St. Louisans deserve.

AAM members have wasted no time in making it clear that support for Amendment 3 didn’t end at last year’s victory at the ballot box! Together, Missourians representing all corners of our state have been using every tool at our disposal to urge our legislators to protect our constitutional right to abortion access and reproductive freedom.

Over the last several weeks, hundreds of reproductive freedom supporters have shown up to the Capitol to testify and join us for our Day of Action, thousands have sent online testimonies and emails, strategy teams from our bases have met with elected officials in their districts to have deeper conversations about our priorities, and many more have activated their friends and neighbors to join the fight with us.

While anti-abortion politicians remain dead set on undermining the will of the people, Missourians like YOU are fearlessly standing together to beat back their attacks at every turn. The fight is far from over, but with the power our movement wields, we are actively building the future we deserve.

BREAKING: SJR 33, an abortion BAN and partner bill to HJR 54, has just been voted out of committee and sent to the full Senate! We need all hands on deck to keep this anti-abortion, anti- democracy resolution from moving any further!

SJR 33’s abortion ban, sponsored by Sen. Schnelting from St. Charles, is couched in so-called “rape and in**st exemptions”—but only IF sexual violence survivors report to the police and seek abortion care before 12 weeks. These so-called exemptions are disingenuous and hollow, and only exist to trick voters into supporting abortion bans. Missourians won't fall for it. And we won't let these politicians trample on our newly established rights to abortion care and reproductive freedom.

We know that continually demonstrating the broad support that exists for Amendment 3 is moving the needle. Even the most emboldened anti-abortion politicians are feeling inundated and impeded by our persistence, so let’s not let up now!

Head to the link below to email the Senate TODAY urging them to VOTE NO on SJR 33!

As we reach the halfway mark of Legislative Session, we’re at a crucial point to ensure that elected officials on both sides of the aisle are held accountable to the will of the people and our newly established abortion rights and reproductive freedom. Our organizing bases narrowed-in last month on the key legislators we will need to engage in order for us to effectively defend Amendment 3, and we’re activated and ready to wield our power directly with our elected officials.

Our 2025 St. Louis endorsements are live! St. Louisans are headed to the polls again on March 4th AND April 8th to decide who leads the city, and for Abortion Action Missouri, the choices are clear.

Under Mayor Tishaura O. Jones’ leadership, St. Louis became the first city in the country to provide support for St. Louisans who have traveled across state lines for abortion care, allocated millions for community pregnancy care providers, and took on the Missouri Attorney General in court to defend our rights.

Tishaura Jones has been your State Representative, served as the first Black woman Treasurer of the City of St. Louis, and shattered the glass ceiling becoming the first Black woman to hold St. Louis’ top job as Mayor. She has had AAM’s endorsement going back to 2010.

Jones’ record of leadership and her dedication to this issue has garnered national attention as she has chaired the Task Force on Reproductive Healthcare Access and Black Maternal Health of the African American Mayors Association and earned the support of EMILY’s List, a national organization dedicated to electing women who hold pro-reproductive freedom values to office, as one of just a handful of Mayors they are supporting this year across the entire country.

Mayor Jones is a steadfast champion for reproductive health and rights. At a time when our municipalities are facing unprecedented hostility from State and Federal officials, St. Louis needs a bold and innovative leader like Jones who has a strong track record defending our reproductive freedom.

Abortion Action Missouri is proud to endorse incumbent Mayor Tishaura O. Jones, and a slate of five incumbent lawmakers–Comptroller Darlene Green, Anne Schweitzer of the 1st Ward, Ald. Shane Cohn of the 3rd Ward, Alderwoman Alisha Sonnier of the 7th Ward, and Ald. Michael Browning of the 9th Ward.

After the passage of Amendment 3 in November, local government officials will play an increasingly important role in the restoration of abortion care in Missouri. Protecting patients and providers from surveillance in an increasingly hostile political landscape, reducing economic barriers to care, and using their platform to destigmatize abortion will be paramount in the future of Missourians’ reproductive freedom.

The City of Saint Louis has a long history of fighting for reproductive freedom. As the first city in the nation to allocate funding for patients seeking abortion care out of state, St. Louis boldly leads our state and our country in prioritizing Missourians’ reproductive freedom, and these historic accomplishments would not have been possible without the innovation and conviction of our elected officials, like those endorsed today.
