Our AmeriCorps member, Savannah served with Concrete Jungle as the Farm Recovery Manager VISTA. As the Farm Recovery Manager VISTA, Savannah managed the Produce Buyer Club where she cultivated relationships with new and existing buyers, overseeing and improving the logistical components of distribution to partners, strengthened relationships with existing farmers, and extended Concrete Jungle’s farmer network. Since July 2023 Savannah has purchased and distributed 246,000 pounds of produce. This year alone she has already purchased and distributed almost 80,000 pounds of produce! Luckily for Concrete Jungle, Savannah will continue as staff as the Farm Recovery Manager. Congratulations on all your accomplishments!

At City Fruit, she created content for their social media pages, managed the cider press rental, increased partnerships with local businesses, and prospected grant funders. AmeriCorps strengthens local organizations. Strengthening nonprofit and faith-based groups, AmeriCorps members help nonprofit, faith-based, tribal, and community organizations expand services, raise funds, develop new partnerships, and create innovative, sustainable programs. Jeanie has been helping expand City Fruit’s Membership Program which allows them to a sustainable funding year-round!

Serve for a year (or two as Sarah did) with an organization tackling poverty to generate resources, encourage volunteer service, and empower individuals and communities. Build your resume as you coordinate administrative projects such as data management, program management, communications and marketing materials development, and so much more.
