Get ready for an unforgettable summer adventure! We're thrilled to offer 3 weekly sessions of SPARTS camp, hosted by the dynamic trio of Mr. Kellum, Teacher Emory, and Ms. Nuutinen. SPARTS camp is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines sports, art, and science to provide a fun-filled and success-oriented environment for all students.

Each day at SPARTS camp, students will immerse themselves in all three disciplines, building skills, and fostering friendships that will last a lifetime. Whether you're interested in science, art, or sports, there's something for everyone at SPARTS!

In the science sessions, you'll embark on a new science journey every week, pushing your mind to the limit. Week one is all about robot making, inspired by The Wild Robot, where you'll design, build, and bring your own robot creations to life. Week two is all about arcade games, where you'll engineer and play your very own games. Week three will focus on LEGO engineering and the maker space, where you'll design, build, and test creative projects, turning your ideas into reality.

In the art sessions, you will participate in a variety of planned creative activities each week. You'll experiment with different artistic mediums including clay, gallery glass, drawing and painting, collage, and more! We will be stretching our minds to create your own world through art, including your very own tie-dye t-shirt! Participants will also have plenty of opportunities to let their own creativity shine outside of the planned activities however they see fit with the materials provided.

In the sports sessions, you'll be playing your favorite gym games, team activities, and competing in minute-to-win-it challenges! Every Friday, a super special water day will be planned where you'll cool off and make a splash with your friends.

The Adams Staff, Families and extended community are deeply saddened by the recent loss of our kindergarten teacher Timmi Harrop. We wish to acknowledge the profound impact she had on all of us. Ms. Timmi was a source of inspiration, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her students and colleagues.

As we navigate this time of grief together, the PTA is committed to honoring her memory in a thoughtful and meaningful way. In partnership with Principal Sohn, we will support the school’s plans for a memorial. We will share details with the community as soon as they are available. We have focused on supporting our staff, who are grieving the loss of their friend and colleague, with daily coffee and breakfasts for a couple of weeks. (See remaining spots on Konstella) For those who wish to pay their respects in other ways, families are welcome to check in at the front desk and leave flowers, cards etc at the inside memorial.

During this difficult time, we encourage everyone to lean on one another for support. We take care of ourselves and each other. Please visit our Adams PTA website for some ways you can honor her memory or help comfort your children who may be affected in different ways by this loss.

Dear current and former Adams Community:



Adams PTA has received a lot of requests to help support staff members who are grieving the loss of their friend and coworker, Timmi Harrop. In order to make the most of these requests, we've created a sign up to bring breakfast items to the staff for the next five school days (not including Mid-Winter Break days). We will assess what else might be helpful for staff after break, but in the meantime this provides an immediate comfort to staff and gives families an opportunity to help. We are not collecting any funding at this time. Please use the link below to sign up with Konstella.



We are giving the family privacy during these difficult early days. Mr. Sohn is in communication with Timmi's daughter and he will pass on any further requests to the school community as they arise. Please keep the staff in your thoughts.



When bringing your breakfast item to school, a PTA VOLUNTEER WILL MEET YOU OUTSIDE AT THE OFFICE DOORS BETWEEN 7:15 AND 7:30. This cuts down on door buzzing for the office at their busiest time of day. Kindly stay within the 15 minute window so staff has time to eat breakfast before the 7:55 bell.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Adams Library starting Monday 2/10 – Wednesday 2/12. Students will have multiple opportunities to shop, and we will be open one hour after school on Wednesday for families to shop the fair.



Registers accept cash and credit cards; you can also set up an eWallet at our fair website@ https://www.scholastic.com/bf/adamselementaryschool11



eWallet allows students to shop using funds deposited into the online eWallet account. Please note that Scholastic will not redeem any unused funds in your eWallet; after the Book Fair, the funds become a gift card balance and can be used to shop online with Scholastic or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair. The funds do not expire and are not tied to a specific school or student.



The Book Fair is an important fundraiser for the Adams library. It allows us to buy the newest popular fiction titles that kids want to read, as well as update our nonfiction collection to support classroom curriculum.
