Opening 12 stations in five cities was no easy feat, but with the help of our partners and support of the community, we made 2024 an unforgettable year.
On April 27th, Sound Transit opened eight stations on the 2-Line, introducing light rail to East King County and connecting Bellevue and Redmond. On August 30th, we expanded the existing 1 Line North into Snohomish County with four new stations in Shoreline, Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood.
With new openings planned for 2025, we have many reasons to celebrate the most ambitious transit expansion in the country. Learn more about how you can partner with Sound Transit here: https://ow.ly/m4AG50ULfgr

Exciting progress is underway! 🚆 This weekend, Jan. 10–12, light rail service between Westlake and SODO will pause as we prepare for the 2 Line opening across Lake Washington. Shuttle buses will be available to keep you moving.
Thank you for your support as we build a stronger, more connected transit network!

Welcome to Rail Safety Week 2024! Follow these rules to get to your destination safely.
According to Operation Lifesaver Inc. 2,190 people were injured or killed in train collisions last year. Help us stop track tragedies by sharing these five safety tips with your family and friends.
Look both ways—Trains come from both directions, so always expect a second train!
Headphones off, screens down—Always stay alert to be safe.
Take crosswalks, not shortcuts—Trains always have the right of way, so pay attention to crossing signals.
Stay behind the yellow line—It’s the only barrier between you and the train.
Bike smart, ride safe—Always cross tracks at a 90-degree angle.
Thanks for being safe!
