The new year brings new changes! CPOA Members can now manage their accounts with the new online portal system (link provided below).

Current bennefits include updating your personal details, establishing a profle and updaing your chapter affiliations.

Future features will include communitites, meeting and event registrations and a career center.

To log in, just use your registered email or memebrship number and click reset password. From there follow the instructions in your email to claim and setup your membership account!

Tuesday we assembled the Chiefs Mess for Chiefsgiving at the Base Seattle Galley to thank all the people who work hard to support the Coast Guard's missions! More than a dozen chiefs teamed up from several units across the U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Northwest (including but not limited to Base Seattle, District Thirteen, Sector Puget Sound and the Maritime Safety and Security Team Seattle).

This dream team provided 220 free lunches to Coast Guard members, civilian employees and even a few Navy sailors who stopped by and got lucky. The lunches served were a build-your-own-burger bar with loads of toppings, caesar salad, french fries and some fresh baked cookies!

As we gear up for our fall fundraiser golf tournament, we wanted to post the pictures from our spring tournament. A special thank you to all of our hole sponsors and businesses who donated merchandise for our raffle. We had a great turn out for a fun tournament and congratulations to our champions!

We hope to see you all out again in a few weeks this fall, especially the reigning victors that HAVE to show up to defend their title.

We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2024 Terry Sherwood Memorial Education Grant! Winners were previously contacted and announced at our July meeting, but without further ado:

1st Place - $1,000: Hope Redhead – A senior Environmental Engineering student at the University of Washington Seattle who plans to gain hands-on experience through an internship at P&G and a capstone project in Bangalore, India, both of which align with their commitment to sustainable solutions.

2nd Place - $500: Isabella Fratto – Continuing participation in the Running Start program, as well as attending the Washington Aerospace Scholars summer residency and plans to aply for several competitive engineering schools.

3rd Place - $500: Echo Orellana (Pictured) – High school student currently enrolled in the Headstart Program and is on track to graduate with an associates degree.

Congratulations to all the award winners! To those who applied but didn’t receive a grant, we deeply appreciate your passion and dedication to education. Keep chasing your dreams! The Seattle Area Chief Petty Officers Association stands behind you, and we hope to see your applications again next year.

REMINDER! The due date for applications for the 2024 Terry Sherwood Memorial Education Grant is approaching! We're still accepting applications until June 14th!

We are offering three grants towards educational expenses. Any dependent of an Active Duty, Reserve or Civilian United States Coast Guard member (can be completed by their guardian) who is attached to a unit that is represented in the Greater Seattle CPOA is eligible.

The grant values are as follows:
1st place - $1,000
2nd place - $500
3rd place - $500

Applications must be received via email sent to [email protected] or postmarked no later than June 14, 2024. The winners will be contacted by July 1, 2024.

In an effort to boost funds for the CPOA Seattle Chapter, a game of chance will be held. This drawing will be for a CAMP CHEF, 600 sq in portable Flat Top Grill ($550 value). Please see attached image for more details and rules.

The goal is to get 100 ticket donations, and the drawing will be either on 30MAY, or 13JUN.

As a reminder, our golf tourament registrations are still open and as of right now our weather forecasting tournament leaders are predicting yet another sunny day in the 60's for this year's spring event.

View from yesterday's Salute to Service game, made possible with 50 tickets provided by Swire Coca-Cola and the USO Northwest. The event was very much appreciated by our local service members and their families who were able to attend.

Today I fielded a phone call around 1 pm from a Chapter member who had access to a few extra tickets to tonight's Mariners vs Cubs game. I was able to quickly get these tickets out to some local Active Duty Members who missed out on getting tickets to tomorrow's Salute to Service game.

Getting texts like these is why we do what we do.
