The Story Behind the Bridge
The Hearthstone/Village cove is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located at Green Lake in North Seattle. Our mission is to serve adults age 62 plus, promoting independence, optimum health, security, purpose and belonging in life, through Christian love and values in a caring environment. Throughout its fifty year history, the Hearthstone has been richly bl
essed with abundant resources and dedicated leadership, staff and residents committed to this mission. Green Lake and the surrounding neighborhoods provide a wonderful environment significantly contributing to the well-being and quality of life for our residents. It is out of this spirit of gratitude for the abundance given to us came the desire to “give back.” The shortage of affordable meeting space and the search for a way to serve our local seniors coincided with the building of Village Cove and the Bridge was born—a gathering place for area seniors and the organizations that serve them. meeting space equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and is ideal for educational and social gatherings for groups up to 60 people. It is located on the street level of Village Cove – a completely independent senior living community one block from Green Lake and the Hearthstone. Opened in June of 2015, the Bridge space is being offered to non-profit senior-related organizations at no cost.
