It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to about 750,000 Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.

(Update 10:26 p.m.) Crews were able to safely restore approx. 3,600 customers affected by the outage caused by a vehicle colliding with a utility pole last night. This effort was complex, and we deeply appreciate your patience while our crews worked as safely and efficiently as possible.

(6:50 p.m.) Crews expect to restore power to the 600 customers out in the Sand Point and View Ridge areas by 9:40 p.m. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as crews finish their work as safely and quickly as possible.

(2:20 p.m.) Crews continue to work safely and efficiently to restore power to the 600 customers who are out in the Sand Point and View Ridge areas after a vehicle collided with a utility pole last night. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

(5:15 a.m.) Crews were able to quickly and safely restore power to nearly 3,000 customers shortly after a vehicle collided with a utility pole last night. Outages continue to affect approx. 600 customers in the Sand Point and View Ridge areas. Crews are working to get everyone back up and running as soon as possible. We ask for your continued patience.

(12:20 a.m.) Crews are responding to an outage near the Ravenna and View Ridge neighborhoods affecting approx. 3,500 customers. Check out these great photos of our crews hard at work in the wake of last week’s storm. Nearly 98% of the 37,000 customers affected were restored in the first 24 hours. Other more complex repairs took several days including damage to a 115kv transmission line in an environmentally sensitive area requiring special measures for safe access.
