It's getting colder out there! 🥶 Dry pipe sprinkler systems are ideal for spaces at risk of freezing. This type of system is designed to keep water out of the pipes until it is needed. Although there is not water in the system, condensation can build up over time so it's important to drain the low points before temperatures freeze (and weekly during freezing temps). To do this:
1. Remove the end cap of the drum drip.
2. Close the top ball valve assembly.
3. Open the bottom ball valve assembly and let the water drain out.
4. Close the bottom ball valve assembly and reopen the top ball valve assembly.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until water is no longer draining.
6. Replace the end cap.

🧯 Every year, fire extinguishers are required to have annual maintenance. This is not the same process as the monthly fire extinguisher inspection. There are more steps, which require changing parts on the extinguisher by a certified technician.
