Take action before Monday for trans youth!

HB 1855 (companion to SB 5123) is moving forward in the WA State Legislature, and we need your help to show strong public support by the next hearing this Monday, March 17th, at 1:30 PM!

Trans youth in WA schools deserve to feel safe, respected, and affirmed—just like any other student. HB 1855 strengthens anti-discrimination protections by explicitly including gender identity and gender expression, ensuring Trans students are protected from discrimination under state law in WA public schools. It also expands protections to cover ethnicity, homelessness, immigration status, and neurodivergence, making WA public schools safer for more of our young people. This bill would create a clear mandate to prevent and address discrimination against Trans and other marginalized youth.

For too long, Trans students have faced barriers to education, from bullying and harassment to systemic exclusion. By strengthening WA’s anti-discrimination policies, HB 1855 helps ensure that Trans youth are treated with dignity and respect, with protections that reflect their lived realities. This bill is a critical step toward making WA’s schools inclusive for all students.

Stop the police state attack on a Palestinian student movement leader! He's being threatened with deportation even though he has a green card. No immigrants and no dissidents are safe if this goes unchallenged.

On the evening of March 8, 2025, Columbia University student activist Mahmoud Khalil was detained by the Department of Homeland Security. The arrest comes on the heels of the Department of State’s announcement that it plans to deport students affiliated with pro-Palestine protests. The student, wh...

Take heart this International Women’s Day!

From refugee women demanding permanent visas in Australia to protests against the naked rule of right-wing billionaires in the United States, the human spirit of solidarity and resistance is on full display. Radical Women stands with people experiencing brutal wars in Ukraine, Palestine and Sudan. We join our working-class sisters and siblings of all genders who are fighting for their rights and survival.

On International Women’s Day, Radical Women honors the unquenchable resistance of the people of Iran, Syria and Afghanistan. We celebrate First Nations women leaders around the globe who stand strong against relentless attempts to crush their people and destroy the planet. We applaud the women of color and immigrants who are reinvigorating the labor movement. We continue our deep commitment to international fights for reproductive justice and race liberation.

The world is rumbling, because everywhere people are fighting back!

The bright diamonds of resistance give hope. As women and non-binary people, as workers, as LGBTIQ+ folk, as people of color and as socialist feminists, we witness inspiring leadership coming from the experience of oppression and poverty. Defiance is erupting from mothers, teachers, nurses, doctors, students and others, who become extraordinary warriors out of the impossible and dangerous circumstances they face. They show it is possible to resist against all odds.

Radical Women’s Manifesto says that in the diversity of women — of all ages and colors — there lies a vast potential for revolutionary strength and leadership. These qualities are urgently needed in times of crisis like now. The principled leadership of the most marginalized will advance the global freedom movement and end the misery of oppressed peoples everywhere. It is time to throw out the upholders of male supremacy and capitalist profits – beginning right here at home.

The sun is on the horizon, ready to come out. Together we can take back what is truly ours — the right to be who we are on a healthy planet and to collectively create a new, free, socialist, humanistic system.

This is what International Women’s Day stands for. Keep up the fight and remember the powerful words of Maya Angelou:

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise….

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Let us rise together!

In solidarity,
Maudie Osborne

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR Washington State’s Senate Joint Resolution 8204 (SJR 8204). It is a proposed Amendment to the Washington State Constitution that would guarantee abortion without restriction.

SJR 8204 would also declare that "gender-affirming care decisions" are constitutional rights. This provision encompasses hormone treatments, surgeries, and other interventions.

Finally, SJR 8204 guarantees "assisted reproductive technology" (surrogacy, IVF, and beyond). The bill information page is: https://app.leg.wa.gov/BillSummary/?BillNumber=8204&Year=2025&Initiative=false

Send a note urging your legislators to strongly push the bill and spread the word about how people can help.
