Oxytocin is a hormone that plays an important role during labor, birth and breastfeeeding. It’s sometimes called the “love hormone” because it’s released when we feel safe, loved and supported.
You can do this during birth by:
Creating a calming atmosphere! This can be dimming lights, wearing your own clothes, and using essential oils.
Using Massage Techniques
Visualizations and Meditations! Our nervous systems and hormones react to the thoughts in our minds.
Having a Supportive Team! This means matching with a doula that compliments your birthing vision, as well as choosing a provider that does too!
And lastly, skin to skin contact 💛
