Good afternoon, western Washington! Despite springing forward this weekend, current conditions are still dreary and gray. Showers continue to move inland in pockets across the region, particularly along the coast and Olympic Mountains. Rain will continue well into tomorrow.
[5:30 PM] Radar Update:
Rain showers will continue to taper off tonight as a cold front moves off to the east, giving us a brief break in wet conditions. Can you see the edge of drier air moving towards the coast? #WAwx
The next round of rain will slide northwards Tuesday morning into the afternoon across Western Washington, along with an uptick in southerly winds. There is also a slight chance for thunderstorms, mainly along the coast, later Tuesday.
Southerly winds will increase this afternoon, with peak gusts overnight up to 50-65 mph, particularly Seattle and southward. Gusty winds will persist into early Tuesday. Prepare for power outages and high-profile vehicles should exercise caution while driving. #wawx
3:40 PM Update: Next round of rain is moving through western WA. Few places have seen wind gusts peak at 25 to 30 mph this afternoon. Expect the gusty winds to increase in coverage through the evening, before tapering back tonight.

💨 South winds will increase again Sunday afternoon and continue into Sunday night, with gusts likely ranging 20 to 40 MPH. We are then monitoring the potential for another round of stronger winds beginning later Monday afternoon and through Monday night. Continue to monitor weather forecasts during this period. #WAwx
🌧️Steady rain will continue across Western Washington through tonight. The heavy rain, combined with warmer temperatures, will allow for rivers to continue to rise. A Flood Warning is currently in place for the Skokomish River in Mason County.
2:50 PM Radar Update: Rain continues across the western WA this afternoon, with a heavier band moving up through San Juan and Whatcom Counties. Some ponding of roads and in low-lying areas is possible.

8:30 AM Radar Update: Yup, that's rain! 🌧️
Rain bands are moving inland along the coast this morning. Expect precipitation coverage to increase from west to east throughout the day. Snow levels will remain cold enough for significant snow in the Cascades (above 2,500 ft).

11:35 am Radar Update: 1st round of snow showers is moving northward into parts of southwest WA. Roads may be snow covered in spots as this band moves northward. Drier air in Puget Sound may limit accumulating precipitation. More precipitation is expected later tonight across most of the coverage area (chances increase from north to south).

Afternoon Radar Update: More showers continue across much of western Washington. You may notice (now that it's warmed up close to 40 in the lowlands) some more raindrops instead of snowflakes with these showers!

8 AM Radar Update: Main area of snow showers continues between US 2 and I-90. Additional snow accumulations are likely through the morning in these areas.
Elsewhere: scattered snow showers will continue across the region through the day.
