Good morning,

Since Ash Wednesday is next Wednesday, our next Monday's and next Wednesday's meal selections are being switched. BBQ pork ribs lunch will be served on Monday, March 3 and the po***ck fish filet lunch will be served on Wednesday, March 5.

Good afternoon,

Due to Eloise Krueger's funeral, which is being held on Wednesday, February 26, the Wednesday meal has been moved to Tuesday, February 25. To further clarify, the Sawyer Senior Citizens will have meals next week on Monday, February 24, Tuesday, February 25 and Friday, February 28. Our cooks and several of us who usually eat meals at the Center will be attending the funeral and will not be available next Wednesday.

The Sawyer Senior Citizens will be holding our February social on Sunday, February 16. The social will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the meal will follow at 5:00 p.m. The meal is graciously donated and being cooked by Cynthia and Larry Ellis from the Sawyer Whiskey Bandits Bar. The meal will consist of prime rib, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread, green beans and dessert. Cynthia wants to honor the Sawyer senior citizens and the Sawyer veterans. Those attending do not need to be Sawyer Senior Citizen members, but we will need to have a head count to know how many to prepare for. If you are planning on attending our February social, please call the Sawyer Senior Center at 701-624-5256 by February 14 and leave a message as to who you are and how many are attending. This meal is a time for fellowship and there will be no other activities planned for the evening. Please plan on supporting this social and to say thank you to Cynthia and Larry.

Good morning,
Please find attached the February menu for the Sawyer Senior Citizens. Please note there is no meal on February 17. To reserve a meal, please call the Sawyer Senior Center at 701-624-5256 before 8:30 on the day you wish to have the meal reserved. As a reminder, our Sawyer Senior Citizens February social will be on Sunday, February 16. At this social we will be honoring the veterans of our group as well as all Sawyer senior citizens. The social will begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by a 5:00 p.m. meal. Next week look for a letter coming from the Sawyer Senior Center explaining things in more detail. The February foot clinic is on February 6 and the March foot clinic is on March 6. If you would like to take advantage of these foot clinics, please call the Minot Commission on Aging at 701-852-0561.Have a great month. Happy Valentine's Day to each of you.

I hope each of you had a Merry Christmas. Please find attached the January 2025 menu. There will be no meals served on January 1 and January 20. As a reminder, this month's foot clinic is on January 2.

Please find attached the December Sawyer Senior Citizens menu.. Please note there will be no meals served on December 24 and December 25. Our December social will be on Thursday, December 12 beginning at 4:30 pm. The meal, which will begin at 5:00 pm, will consist of Market Place chicken which is being paid for by the Center. Each attending person is asked to bring your favorite side dish or dessert. The entertainment for the evening is the amazing Allan Dockter family. Instead of a gift exchange, it was decided at our November social to donate money to the Sawyer School hot lunch program to help pay for meals for families that can not afford to pay for the meals. A suggested donation is $5 to $10.

The Sawyer Senior citizens are participating in the December North Pole Party by having children decorate Christmas cookies (sugar or gingerbread cookies) from 3:00 pm to 5 pm. If you are able, please consider donating Christmas cookies for this event. The cookies need to be at the Center by December 6.

Good morning

Please find attached the November Sawyer Senior Citizens menu. Please note there are no meals on November 11 (Veterans Day) and November 28 & 29 (Thanksgiving). Our November social will be on Thursday, November 14. The social will begin at 5:30 followed by a pot luck dinner at 6:00. Our guest speaker will be Keith Hanson, an insurance agent from Town & Country, Minot, ND. He will be discussing medicare plans and options. We will also have our annual business meeting where we will be discussing 2024 issues and we will be having our election of officers for 2025. Our foot clinic is on Thursday, November 7.
Also attached is a notice for the Sawyer North Pole Party. Please plan on attending and supporting this function.
November 11 is Veterans Day. Please remember to thank a veteran for their service to our country. It is their willingness to serve that enables us to enjoy the freedoms that we have.

Also attached is a flyer for the October 12 Sawyer Neighborhood clean-up. If you need help cleaning up your yard and you live in the city of Sawyer, please call Jayme at 701-822-2520. Just a note to let you know there will be no meal served at the Sawyer Senior Center this Wednesday, August 21. The oven at the Center does not work properly and is scheduled to be replaced on August 21. The Sawyer Senior Center August 21 meal will be served on Thursday, August 22. Friday's meal will be served as normal.
