Advocacy for Military Families — Meet Mrs. Patricia Barron, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community & Family Policy.

We recently met her team in the Pentagon to discuss support for U.S. Pacific Fleet families. We spoke about spouse employment, childcare, commissaries, education, and the many resources Military OneSource has to offer. Thanks to Mrs. Barron for making it your mission to provide a better quality of life for our families.

Team, I want to introduce the newest member of our team, Warrant Officer Darren Crosby of the Royal New Zealand Navy. He's currently serving with us as part of an exchange program between our navies. Back home he is the Fleet Master Chief of manpower, training, and education. We're lucky to have him and hope you'll join us in welcoming him with the aloha spirit!

MCPON Honea recently brought together the Fleet and Force Master Chiefs to tackle issues our Navy families are facing. During this time we were able to discuss the work our cross functional teams have done to improve the health of the force, housing, pay, compensation, retention, and overall quality of life.

Thank you for bringing us together to ensure we're rowing in the same direction and aligned in putting the warfighter and family first.

Adelaida was a former Sailor of mine at VP-47. She was a hard charger then and now she continues her spirit of service through the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
