Overnight garage fire on St. Peter Ave early Wednesday morning.

The Minot Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 211 St. Peter Ave in southeast Minot today at 12:06 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from a detached garage at the rear of the property.

Fire crews verified that all occupants had evacuated the home before initiating fire suppression efforts. The garage where the fire started was engulfed and is a total loss, along with its contents, including two vehicles. The fire also caused damage to the siding of the home and a neighboring garage, but firefighters were able to prevent the fire from extending inside these structures.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. Once power was restored, firefighters confirmed that the home’s heating system was operational, allowing the occupants to remain in the home.

The response included three engine companies, two truck companies, and one command unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A huge THANK YOU to Enbridge for their generous donation of four Rescue Tech training manikins. These lifelike, durable training tools will help our firefighters prepare for a wide range of rescue scenarios.

This donation includes:
Infant Manikin (11 lbs)
Toddler Manikin (22 lbs)
Youth Manikin (44 lbs)
Adult Manikin (165 lbs)

Each manikin is designed with realistic weight distribution and handling characteristics, allowing our team to train in conditions that mirror real-life emergencies. Early morning mobile home fire sends one resident to Trinity Hospital.

The Minot Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home fire at 500 30th Ave. NW this morning at approximately 5 a.m.

While en route, responding crews were informed by Minot Central Dispatch that an occupant was still inside the home and unable to exit due to fire conditions.

Engine 3 arrived on the scene and immediately initiated search and rescue operations. Firefighters successfully located and removed the victim from the building, and provided medical treatment alongside Trinity First Response Ground.

The sole occupant was treated for smoke inhalation and transported to Trinity Hospital.

The fire was contained to a single bedroom within the mobile home. The response included three engine companies, two truck companies, and one command unit.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Car fire quickly extinguished in southeast Minot garage late Saturday evening

On Jan. 25 at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Minot Fire Department responded a report of a car on fire in a garage located at 428 1st St SE.

Upon arrival on scene, crews quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread further.

Two occupants of the home were treated for smoke inhalation but required no further medical attention.

The response from all five stations included three engine companies, two truck companies, and one command unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A hero in the making.

Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming Teage to the Minot Fire Department family. 🧑‍🚒 In a special ceremony, Teage received his very own decommissioned firefighter helmet, presented by Senior Firefighter Chad Sickles as part of the Helmets for Heroes program. This moment celebrated the courage and strength Teage shows every day.

Teage proudly put on his helmet and hopped right into the fire truck—he may still be wearing his helmet today.🚒

On Jan. 18, at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Minot Fire Department responded to the Minot International Airport for an automatic alert from the fire alarm company.

Firefighters found significant smoke coming from a ground floor office space. Flames were minimal and the incident was contained. Heavy smoke activated the fire suppression sprinkler system. A cleaning response continues in the terminal.

The airport terminal was temporarily evacuated. Following incident containment and air quality tests, the terminal was reopened within the hour. No injuries were reported.

The terminal is open. Airport operations will continue as normal. Please contact your airline for the most up to date flight information.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Mobile home fire causes significant damage in SW Minot late Sunday afternoon.

On Jan. 12, at approximately 5:26 p.m., the Minot Fire Department responded to a report of smoke filling a mobile home located at 1500 18th St SW #40.

Engine 1 arrived on scene and confirmed smoke visible from the structure. Crews verified that no occupants were inside before entering the home to conduct a thorough search and locate the fire.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames concentrated at the rear of the
home, as well as fire beneath the structure and within its walls. Crews remained on scene for over an hour to extinguish the fire.

The residence sustained extensive damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation

Fire quickly extinguished in northwest Minot home Tuesday afternoon.

On Jan. 7, at 11:50 a.m., the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to 1017 7th Ave. NW for a report of smoke coming from a window air conditioner unit.

Station 2 crew arrived on scene within 3 minutes and 40 seconds and immediately made entry into the home. Firefighters swiftly extinguished the fire. The affected area was subsequently ventilated.

The response from all five stations included three engine companies, two truck
companies, and one command unit.

The house was unoccupied. No injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.

Fire quickly extinguished in northwest Minot home Saturday evening.

On Jan. 4, at 10:19 pm, the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to 320 8th St. NW for a report of smoke filling the basement of the home.

Station 5 crew arrived on scene within 4 minutes and 14 seconds and immediately made entry into the home. Firefighters located the fire in the floor joists and quickly extinguish the fire. They also overhauled the affected area and ventilated the structure.

The response included three engine companies, two truck companies, and one command unit from all five stations.

All occupants and pets were able to get out of the home on their own, smoke detectors were present and in working order.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was caused by hot embers escaping from the wood-burning fireplace and igniting within the floor void space.

Large, detached garage fire in northeast Minot Friday afternoon.

At 3:24 p.m., the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to a reported garage fire at 3344 7th St NE.

Upon arrival, fire crews discovered six garages in a 12-garage structure engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and extinguished the fire with the utilization of Truck 5’s aerial ladder and the elevated master stream.

The damage was confined to the six garages, and no injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.

Yesterday, during three fire calls, we were teaching Blaze about the many tasks firefighters handle on a fire scene. One important lesson: keeping fire hydrants clear of snow ensures our crews can connect quickly when every second counts.

Firefighters respond to electrical fire in northeast Minot early Wednesday afternoon.

At 12:18 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 18th, the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to an electrical fire at 509 7th St NE.

Engine 2 arrived on scene in 3 minutes and 10 seconds after being dispatched. Upon arrival they were met with heavy smoke in the basement from an unknown source. An electrical panel had been found to have failed and been arcing. The sole resident and pet were outside of the structure prior to the fire departments arrival.

The response included one battalion chief, one ladder truck, and two engines, and Xcel Energy.

The fire remains under investigation.
