Hey everyone, it looks like we still have some concerns with the sinkhole that is at Big 4 and it’s going to affect how many people we can have in Camp. The decision has been made to reschedule our district picnic to a future date. I do not know the date yet, but it will hopefully be soon. Sorry for the last-minute change. If everyone could please help me pass the information along that we will not be doing the district picnic this Thursday.

UPDATE: The picnic is being rescheduled to a future date due to some construction issues. There will NOT be a picnic Thursday, June 6th at Big 4. :’(

Hey all! We're gearing up for the Western Camporee (May 31st to June 2nd at Heart Butte) and we are looking for a few more camp staff. We are in need of merit badge counselors for Pioneering, Indian Lore, and American Heritage. The goal is not to get these badges completed this weekend but focus on the fun and partials are totally acceptable. If any Scouts already have partials for these badges, then this weekend might be a good opportunity to get them done! Also, we're looking for a Health Officer and a couple cooks. If anyone is available to help, please let me know! Currently we are expecting at least 8 Troops to attend, so it's looking to be a good turnout!
Welcome to the Western Camporee! This unique event offers an immersive experience into the life and times of the Civil War era. Scouts BSA youth and

From Judy Kotta - Council Popcorn Advisor,
We are excited to begin preparing for the 2024 Popcorn Sale. Last year was fantastic! We will build on everything that was learned in 2023, and work to make 2024 the best sale ever. The first important step is your participation in one of our May Key Leader Briefings where we will share important information about the 2024 Popcorn Sale including product line, prices, commission structure, and most importantly how to increase your sales.
An additional 2% commission will be awarded to each unit that sends a minimum of two of the following individuals: 1) Unit Popcorn Kernel, 2) Cubmaster, 3) Scoutmaster, 4) Skipper,
5) Advisor or 6) committee chairperson.
We will host briefings throughout the month of May in different parts of the council. All meetings will start at 6:30PM. You are free to attend any briefing that works for your schedule regardless of location or district. Units in the Meadowlark and Flickertail District are invited to attend either Grand Forks, Minot, Bismarck, or Fargo. Choose from the following:

May 2: Grand Forks: Forks Field Office (1701 Cherry St, Grand Forks)

May 9: Thief River Falls: Lutheran Church (505 Main Ave N, Thief River Falls)

Our scouting family has lost another great person. Shawn has been apart of scouting for many years! He helped out in troop 1433 with his son and troop 5401 with his daughter recently. He was always up to some shenanigans with his jokes and stories, while keeping a straight face through it all! please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral is set for Saturday January 27, 2024. Please join us in class A uniform for the funeral. Please reach our to Jodi walker if you want to help out the family in this tuff time 805-757-2413. I plan on coming up with gift baskets and more for them. He also went through Woodbadge..."I used to be an antelope, a good Ole antelope too. Now I have finished antelopeing......"
