America is staring down the barrel of a $2.5 trillion cut to Medicaid that would affect millions of seniors & our rural communities.
These arenʻt cost savings. These are neighbors, friends, parents, kids.
I'm calling for a rural health moonshot. We can and must fight back. @ruralhealth

Outside with the NEA Today to send one simple, clear message to President Musk and his sidekick Trump: Protect Students. Protect Public Schools.
Mahalo to my friends at Hawaii State Teachers Association for coming in and sharing their concerns about the future of the U.S. Department of Education. We appreciate all that you do as educators & will stand by public education and our teachers to help you build the next generation of Hawaiʻi!
Our farmers depend on our federal workers to help keep them afloat—providing loans, financial assistance & technical support. These are the same workers the Trump Administration wants to get rid of. It's chaos. #ForkOff 🥄

With my Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center ʻohana today, here to remind everyone that when we talk about funding for Medicaid, federally qualified health centers, SNAP—these are the faces on the frontline making sure our people are okay.
Mahalo for your work. We will continue fighting for you!
The Trump Administration has been pressuring federal workers to resign & threatening mass layoffs if for those who refuse to accept his bogus payout offer. We have 43,000 hardworking federal employees in Hawaiʻi. We hear you, see you, & will fight for you.
Mahalo to the National Federation of the Blind Hawaiʻi for coming by to advocate for disability rights & continued federal protections for our blind community.
Remember, when we talk about federal funding freezes or overreach in government, these are the real human faces who are impacted. This is what's at stake—and I'm committed to fighting alongside our people to ensure they continue to receive the support they need.

Mahalo to everyone that has reached out to my office with their concerns about the actions of this Administration. I share your anger & frustration.
Within two weeks, we've seen sweeping attacks on federal funding & workers, critical government agencies, non-profits, immigrants, seen jobs given to political loyalists, and witnessed the illegal seizure of sensitive Treasury data by an un-elected official.
It's a blatant assault & violation of checks & balances.
President Musk and Trump have proven only one thing: they will do what they want and they don't care who gets hurt. We are not going to let billionaires in the White House trample on the rights of everyday Americans.
Congress returns to session this week & I am committed to fighting any direct threats to the stability and safety of our families, communities, and country regardless of who is in power.

Trying to freeze federal funds & eliminate 2 million federal employees, while forcing people to live in fear with these executive orders sends a clear message to our people: Trump believes he's a government of one.
This is dictatorship behavior & an abuse of power.

I'm happy to share that the Continued Rapid ‘Ōhi‘a Death Response Act of 2025 has passed the House today.
We cannot afford to stand alone & continue to lose our native forests in Hawai‘i. They protect and sustain our people & provide critical habitat for native species.

Disaster assistance should be unconditional, bipartisan, and non-political. I'm calling on Congress to stand in solidarity with our LA ʻohana & commit to sending them the critical aid they need to combat these fires.
Denying each other help is not just cruel—it's un-American.
