The City of Johnson City’s contractor, Titan Milling, will begin FOG seal application on City roads beginning on March 17, 2025. FOG seal is a coating of asphalt emulsion that protects your street from oxidation and water intrusion and extends the life of the pavement.

The contractor prematurely distributed 48-hour notice fliers to some affected residents and business owners in the City earlier this week. We apologize for this error, but you should receive secondary notices providing an additional 48-hour notice of road work prior to the commencement of work.

Work will be conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Except on very narrow roads, one lane of traffic will always remain open. During the FOG seal application and until the material dries, all vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians should keep off the road surface. Please remove parked vehicles from streets on the applicable dates below. To prevent FOG seal on your vehicles, please follow the directions of traffic crews, flaggers, and posted barricades. The FOG seal dries in approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour.

***Please be aware that the date ranges provided below are estimates and may change due to variations in drying time and weather conditions***

This past Saturday, volunteers came together for the Johnson City Spring Clean! We tackled trash, limbs, and storm debris at the park, along the walking trail, and in Town Creek. The sand volleyball court got a much-needed refresh, and we did some maintenance on the swings, playgrounds, and softball field. It wasn’t a huge crowd, but many hands made quick work!

Big thanks to everyone who pitched in—our community looks better because of you!

Congratulations, SRO Oestreich!
