Yesterday’s fire, known as the Klett Fire, burned approximately 120 acres. There are mixed reports but that is the Texas Forest Service estimate. As of now there were no injuries reported or loss of property (other than grass/trees and fence). 120 acres may seem like a lot, but with the high winds and major response from other agencies we can say we were happy with the results. Thank you to all of those departments who responded to assist us on this dangerous day/fire. And thank you to the locals who helped their neighbors in moving animals and preparing for possible evacuations…..thank God we didn’t get to that point.

Sorry no photos are attached, the boots on the ground did not have time to take them because of the danger levels.

**JCVFD needs volunteers! We have training every 2nd Wednesday and a business meeting every 4th Wednesday .

We had a small vegetation fire on Kent Hatchery Road. Due to a quick response it was kept to 8 acres. The trash that Asst Chief Bible is holding was apparently the culprit……it blew in to the power line and caused an arc in to the dry grass. This is our new Brush 2’s first fire!
