Today, 1-5 FA kicked off the 1ID Year of the Warrior with a Division run. Hamilton's Own Soldiers completed a 4 mile run around Custer Hill, calling cadence and building esprit de corps throughout the formation. No mission too difficult, no sacrifice too great!

These past couple weeks have been busy here at 1-5 FA. While everyone is working to button down the hatches for opportunity leave in a couple weeks, there have been a series of promotions within the Officer Corps. Many Second Lieutenants have been selected to be promoted to First Lieutenant. With the transfer from Gold Bar to Silver Bar comes with a jump in responsibility, expectations and mind set. A First Lieutenant is no longer new to the army lifestyle. They are expected to have in-depth knowledge on the sytems and processes of the unit and the Army and be able to think critically about any problem they may face. Congratulations to the newly promoted lieutenants!

On Friday, held a Pie-in-the-Face fundraiser for AER. Destroyers were able to donate to our AER campaign in exchange for the opportunity to pie senior leaders in the face. Together, we raised over $6,300 for AER. Thank you to everyone who came out to support!

Last week, Battery conducted a Live Fire Exercise at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California. Bravo Battery used this opportunity to train on adjusting fire missions and preparing for special munitions. Great work, team!

On Friday, the Delta Battery Change of Command ceremony took place at . We thank CPT Victor Perez for his dedication and service to Delta Battery and 1-5 FA. We wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavors. We also extend a warm welcome to CPT Constantine Tolias and his family as he assumes command of one of the most historic batteries in the Army. We are extremely proud of our teams that competed in the Inaugural Best Redleg Competition at Fort Sill, OK. They demonstrated grit, perseverance, and dedication competing amongst the best Redlegs in the Army. They embodied the Division’s motto, “No Mission Too Difficult, No Sacrifice Too Great, Duty First!”

During the last three weeks, over 900 soldiers have been working hard to earn their Expert Soldier Badges. Last Saturday, just 128 soldiers received the coveted badge. Hamilton's Own is thrilled to highlight and congratulate 1LT Delaney Shanahan for her outstanding achievement and earning her ESB!

Yesterday, had our April Spiritual Wellness Breakfast. The theme started as “One Team, One Fight” and turned into a little trivia contest on FM 7-22. To round it out, CSM Wilson gave a small farewell speech for his last breakfast with us! Thank you to our volunteers for providing a yummy breakfast sandwich buffet!
