We would like to congratulate our newest Active Firefighter April Kelso! April has completed her required six month probationary period joining the ranks of the active firefighters. She comes to us with many years of experience as a firefighter with the NJANG. We know she will continue to serve with the same honor and integrity that you deserve from your Scullville Volunteer Fire Company.

JeffSTAT 4's final approach and landing

Today, Car 1530 and Engine 1533 were staged at the Slaybaugh School for a Landing Zone assignment. Jefferson Health Systems Medical Helicoptor designated JeffSTAT 4 landed and gave a tour of the helicopter and answered questions that were asked by the staff and students.

Tonight is a night for celebration as the Egg Harbor Township Youth Organization Varsity Football team won their Championship game!!! Ladder 1535 and Engine 1533 as well as the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company attended this celebration by escorting them to their home field with the assistance of Egg Harbor Township Police Department. BLS 15-2 of the Egg Harbor Township Emergency Medical Services was also in attendance but was called to service just as the parade was getting underway. Congratulations again to the EHTYO Varsity Football Team!!!

SMOKE ADVISORY: New Jersey residents can expect smoke conditions stemming from several large wildfires burning throughout the state to last for several days.

Large wildfires are burning in the following areas at varying stages of containment:
🔥 Downe Twp., Cumberland County – Halloween Wildfire
🔥 Evesham Twp., Burlington County & Voorhees Twp., Camden County – Bethany Run Wildfire
🔥 Glassboro Twp., Gloucester County – Pheasant Run Wildfire
🔥 Jackson Twp., Ocean County – Shotgun Wildfire
🔥 Livingston Twp., Essex County – Industrial Parkway Wildfire
🔥 Rockaway Twp., Morris County – Craigmeur Lookout Wildfire
🔥 Rockaway Twp., Morris County – Microwave Wildfire
🔥 Waterford Twp., Camden County – Hayes Mill Wildfire
🔥 Woodland Twp., Burlington County – Tea Time Hill Wildfire

The smoke conditions are due to the extremely dry conditions which has allowed the fires t0 burn down into the duff layer of soil.

Smoke conditions may worsen during overnight hours where higher humidity causes smoke to lay low to the ground. Smoke is expected to remain present until significant rain falls over the fire areas.

New Jersey Forest Fire Service crews continue to improve containment lines, mop-up hotspots along the fire perimeters patrolling, monitoring and extinguishing hotspots in the fire areas.

It is recommended that area residents with respiratory conditions keep windows closed and limit outdoor activity.

Monday, Oct. 21: As of 6 a.m., the New Jersey Forest Fire Service has implemented statewide Stage 3 Fire Restrictions statewide in response to prolonged dry conditions and increased wildfire activity.

STAGE 3 FIRE RESTRICTIONS
🚫🔥 All fires will be prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity.
🚫🔥 No charcoal fires are allowed.
