The Colorado Rockies home opening weekend is complete, and a long-standing tradition continued! ⚾️

For well over a decade the Mission has partnered with our hometown baseball team to clean-up the ballpark district in downtown. On Monday we took advantage of a sun splashed afternoon to make the area cleaner!

Lloyd's completion of the New Life Program at The Crossing shows that anything is possible. He has a new life and is giving back after receiving support through the Mission.

Last weekend, in conjunction with A Stronger Cord, a crew from The Crossing helped build a playground for the animals at a ranch just outside of Brighton. The New Life Program participants were critical in creating a play area for the goats while dismantling an outdated chicken coop.

Lent reminds us of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness—a time of challenge but also of preparation. Many of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness feel trapped in their own concrete wilderness here in Denver, searching for hope. But we know God can work the most difficult circumstances into life-changing experiences.

At the Mission, we’re in the business of seeing God perform miracles every day. The broken are made whole, the hopeless find hope and some even come to understand and accept the love of Jesus bringing renewal in their lives.

Denver Rescue Mission’s Youth Center is experiencing some exciting new changes and growth, much like the kiddos we serve.

The most notable changes we’re implementing are age-specific spaces, programs for child development and the use of a two-generation model that is addressing the needs of not only the children we serve but their parents as well.

Jesus often used meals to connect with others. Twice in the Bible, it’s recorded how he multiplied a meager portion of food into a meal for thousands. And he used these meals to create space to teach and share.

At the Mission, if our chefs could multiply food like Jesus did, they would. But our kitchens do operate largely on food donated by people like you. Like the five loaves and fishes Jesus blessed and multiplied, our chefs use a variety of donated items to create healthy, filling meals for neighbors in need.
