🎨Not your average art class! 💻 Stedman Elementary School is giving students a head start in digital design, teaching them how to use tech to express themselves in new and creative ways. Instead of just pencils and paint, students are learning graphic design, digital collage and creative tech skills, tools that build confidence and open doors. 🖌️ "I never thought I was good at tech, but now I love it!" says Delilah, a Stedman student. Winter sports wrap up! ❄️🏆 Huge shoutout to our incredible athletes for an unforgettable season. Special congrats to Jordan Romero from Abraham Lincoln High School for dominating the mat and bringing home a state championship in wrestling! 🤼‍♂️💪 Denver South High School wrestling took home the league championship, while Denver East High School girls swimming & diving made a splash with a league title! 🏊‍♀️💦 On the court, George Washington High School (5A girls), East (6A girls), and Thomas Jefferson High School(5A boys) all secured basketball league championships! 🏀🔥 Way to go, athletes! 🎉 Lancer Wrestling Denver

🤩Erika brings the fun! Congrats on being this week's LOD awardee and thank you for engaging students through gardening and empowering them to learn, grow, and connect with nature. 🌳

"Erika initiated a lesson plan for our Discovery Link students with their buy in titled, 'Help us let Stedman Bloom.' The lesson taught through a fun, engaging way how to grow fruits and vegetables and to be proud of their own efforts by seeing results daily from their work in the garden. She involved our community by sending out a flyer asking for donation materials to help with growing the garden. This helped the students with their Discovery Link Garden, improving their physical and mental health, and allowed them take part of nature. Students demonstrated a more relaxed and happier disposition, bringing them together, which strengthened their social connections. Reducing their environmental impact and being outdoors in the sun increased their vitamin d levels all while teaching a fun, engaging lesson. There is a Chinese proverb that says, 'Life begins the day you start a garden.' Our kiddos absolutely enjoyed this lesson plan!"

With women making up just 10% of the industry, this event showed students that construction is for everyone. 📸Exciting progress is happening in the Far Northeast, and our aerial photos capture it all! 🚁 Last fall, RASA, the Responsive Arts and STEAM Academy, opened its doors thanks to the 2020 bond. Now, Phase 2 is underway with construction in full swing on a brand-new middle school wing, made possible by the 2024 bond.👏

As the community grows, DPS is committed to expanding opportunities for students to learn and thrive. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project takes shape! 🎉
