DURA Housing Rehabilitation Denver Urban Renewal Authority’s (DURA) housing rehabilitation programs help qualifying Denver res

DURA’s Housing Rehabilitation programs match low-income and moderate-income residents with grants and low-interest loans for emergency repairs like hot water heater replacement, or for more thorough rehabilitation of a single-family home, like installing a new roof and replacing sewer lines – repairs that ensure that the home is safe and comfortable. The programs deliver high-quality improvements

and also offer assistance in working with reliable contractors. DURA also makes grants to renters and homeowners with disabilities for access modifications. As part of DURA’s commitment to the homeowner, DURA oversees the work being performed by the contractor to make sure repairs are completed quickly, at a competitive price, with the highest quality work, and in the best interest of the homeowner. Did you know that DURA loans through our SFR Program are not your typical home improvement loan?

DURA loans are different from standard home improvement loans for several reasons. First, DURA loans have no interest or low interest. DURA can only repair or replace items that are considered essential or that do not meet minimum code requirements. In addition, DURA provides technical assistance and monitors the construction process from beginning to end. With a home improvement loan, you must find your own contractor and monitor construction yourself. DURA is not a bank or a for-profit lender — our funding comes through the City and County of Denver Office of Housing Stability. To learn more, visit

Homeowners can make home improvements including essential repairs and necessary upgrades to their home using zero- to one percent (0-1%) interest loans of up to $50,000. This program is designed for major home rehabilitation such as roofing, plumbing, siding, gutters, window repair or replacement, a...

Some job titles don't really cover the full scope and importance of what our staff does. Pam Wilson, our human resources and office manager, has been the glue that in many ways holds our DURA team and diverse operations together. Pam joined DURA in 2019, and without her, things just wouldn't run as smoothly around here. So thank you, Pam, for your more than five years of service helping keep Denver strong and thriving.
