Culver Police Chief Wayne Bean announces retirement

Culver Police Chief Wayne Bean informed the Culver Town Council that he intends to retire at the beginning of May 2025. He will remain on staff until a suitable, qualified replacement is hired. Chief Bean has served over 42 years.

A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for portions of northern Indiana from 1-8 PM EDT Tuesday. Record warm temperatures, low relative humidity, strong gusty winds, and very dry topsoil will result in an increased risk for field fires on Tuesday. Fires could spark very easily. Any uncontrolled fire will likely spread rapidly. AVOID OUTDOOR BURNING!

The Town of Culver reminds individuals that there will be a Town Council Work Session on Tuesday April 9th, from 5-6:30 PM at the Town Hall. This session will begin to receive public feedback concerning the extension of Culver’s zoning to two miles outside of existing corporate limits as suggested within the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. The town would like to emphasize that this possible zoning extension is not annexing property but rather extending its zoning as laid out within State Statue IC 36-7-4-205.
