Jam for the Dam - Winter Variety Show

Orleans, VT - on Friday, February 21st, 7:00 PM at the Orleans Municipal Building, the Lake Region Music Department will present their annual variety show. This year proceeds will benefit the Shadow Lake Dam fund. Students and community members will present a fun-filled and dynamic show featuring rock, folk and blues classics and original songs. The concert will include music by Rodgers & Hart, Sam Cooke, Metallica, Trombone Shorty, The Temptations, Neil Young, Adele, Goodbye June, and traditional ballads and songs. Under the direction of Sara Doncaster and Christopher Doncaster, many of the songs were selected by LR vocalists and instrumentalists. Admission is $10, $5 students/seniors. For further information please contact Theresa Perron at [email protected] or Sara Doncaster at (802) 754-2500 x219 or [email protected]

The July floods of 2023 and 2024 took a toll on the over 200-year-old dam. The Town of Glover has undertaken a project to bring the dam into compliance by subsidizing the cost. This concert is a way to raise awareness of this important issue and to raise funds for the cost of the repair.

Congratulations, LR Musicians for your leadership in our food drive! We made cash donations to Northeast Kingdom Organizing ($200) and the Orleans Community Food Shelf ($150), and delivered 168 food items to the Barton Food Pantry, United Church of Newport Food Shelf, and St. Mark's Church Food Shelf. Non - perishable food items and toiletries were collected at our concert on January 5th and during our school-wide drive. Thank you to all students and teachers who supported this effort. Pictured is Audrey Grant, Northeast Kingdom Organizing Operations Director. NEKO is doing great work in bringing our Northeast Kingdom communities together.
