This past week has been quite busy for our dedicated workforce across the state, as they battled multiple storms that brought snow and ice to the entire Thruway system. Crews were also deployed off system to help our neighbors in Herkimer County dig out. Thank you to each and every member of the Thruway Authority for your hard work and commitment to maintaining one of the safest highways in the country. You are truly amazing!!

⚠️ TRAVEL ADVISORY - ALBANY: Brief intermittent traffic slowdowns/stops are scheduled this Sunday, February 23 between midnight and 6 a.m. on the Thruway (I-87) near exit 23 (Albany (Downtown) - Troy - Rensselaer - I-787 - US Route 9W) and on I-787 approaching the exit 23 interchange.

Each traffic slowdown/stop is expected to last no longer than 15 minutes and are necessary to allow National Grid to complete overhead line work. Drivers are encouraged to use caution or seek alternate routes during this time.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for portions of Western NY until 4 am Friday. 2-4" of snow is expected with 3-6" along the Chautauqua Ridge.
