The “Sea of Orange” descends again in Albany to fight for safe local roads and bridges.

Donning their trademark safety-orange shirts, more than 700 local highways leaders rallied in Albany today with Legislative leaders, calling for $250 million to be added to the state budget for local roads. Shout out to committee chairs Assemblyman William Magnarelli and Senator Jeremy Cooney (and several of their colleagues) for standing up for local highway departments, who maintain 87% of New York’s highways, roads and bridges.

Local Roads Are Essential!
Over 700 Highway Professionals came to Albany yesterday and today to advocate for an additional $250 million of CHIPS funding. The CHIPS program is equitably distributed to every municipality in NY and is critical to help maintain transportation infrastructure for the traveling public.

Local Officials from Westchester and Putnam Counties count on CHIPS funding to keep our roads safe! Please let your local representatives know that Local Roads Matter!
