Didn’t make it to this year’s Music Teacher Concert?
No problem! Here it is in its entirety!
Along with being an outstanding showcase of the musical and comedic talents of district staff, the concert raises money to benefit Albany Friends of Music, a nonprofit group of parents, teachers and music lovers who support music programs and initiatives in our schools.
This year’s concert was also dedicated to the memory of longtime district music teacher Minitria Slade, and the show opened with two heartfelt performances honoring her life.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the night a success, especially music teacher Jimmy Affatigato who organized the event!
Happy Holidays!
A reminder that all City School District of Albany schools and administrative offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 1 for the holiday break.
The exception is the district headquarters at Academy Park, which will be open Dec. 26, 27 and 30. If you need to visit Academy Park on one of those days, we suggest that you call the office you’re trying to connect with ahead of your visit to assure that the appropriate person is available. The building will be closed Dec. 23-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1.
All of our schools and offices will reopen in the new year on Thursday, Jan. 2.
Have a happy and restful break, and be sure to check out this holiday message from Superintendent Hochreiter!

And know that while American Education Week may only be five days, I am grateful for you all each and every day.
Thank you, and keep up the great work!
