Carcar City Museum

This was built under the American period in 1929 by Don Mariano Mercado. It used to be a summer house of the Americans before it became a dispensary. On July 7, 2008, it was inaugurated as the Carcar City Museum, a cultural establishment that exhibits the history, heritage, and artifacts of Carcar City and its environs. By preserving and promoting the region's diverse cultural heritage, the museum offers visitors a valuable opportunity to explore the city's past and gain insight into its rich traditions.

A Glimpse into Carcar City's History

The City's Iconic Landmark: CARCAR ROTUNDA (KIOSKO)

Positioned at the heart of the National Highway lies the Carcar Rotunda, serving as the city's renowned landmark due to its prominent location along the route frequented by everyone. Dominating its center is an elaborate gazebo adorned with a symbolic statue of Mother America, indicating the path towards the Philippines. Positioned at the Rotunda's four corners are sculptures of couples representing various regions of the country. This significant landmark was conceived and realized under the leadership of Carcar's inaugural mayor, Mayor Mariano Mercado.

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒐 𝒔𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒈𝒃𝒐 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 will take place at the new Carcar City Sports Center due to renovation works at the Cebu City Sports Center. It will be on August 27, 2023 (Sunday).

Fifty (50) contingents from the Province of Cebu’s component cities and municipalities have already informed the Capitol of their participation in the street dancing competition and grand ritual showdown.
