Northfield Police Department Congratulates DJ Daniels on Honorary Swearing-in as a U.S. Secret Service Agent

The Northfield Police Department is proud to extend our heartfelt congratulations to DJ Daniels, who was recently honorarily sworn in as a United States Secret Service Agent. This incredible achievement comes after DJ’s courageous battle with childhood cancer, a fight he faced with unwavering strength and determination.

During his visit to New Jersey in 2022, our officers had the privilege of meeting DJ and were deeply impressed by his resilience, positive attitude, and the inspiring way he approaches every challenge. His strength serves as an example for all, and we are thrilled to recognize his achievements.

Congratulations, DJ! We wish you the best on your journey ahead, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Northfield Police Department whenever you're in the area.

Best wishes, Northfield Police Department

Tomorrow is one of the Northfield Police Department's favorite days of the year! The Northfield Community School is hosting the 4th Annual Staff/Police vs. NCS Thunderbirds Basketball Game on Friday, February 27, 2025, with a 1:45 PM tip-off.

The students are currently undefeated, holding a 4-0 lifetime record against the Staff/Police. However, this year, the Northfield Police Department is determined to change that! Rostered for the NPD are Lt. Michael Buccafurni, Ptlm. Juan Pemberti-Jaramillo, Ptlm. Christian Gansert, Ptlm. Kevin Sundstrom, and Ptlm. Brett Alleva.

This event has grown into a highly anticipated tradition, thanks to the support of Superintendent Pedro Bretones, Principal Kevin Morrison, Chief Mark VonColln, Josiah Bunting of the Bunting Family Pharmacy, and all the dedicated students and staff. A big thank you also goes to BFA Sports Media for live streaming the game, so everyone can join in on the fun!

This event is a fantastic way to strengthen the bond between the Northfield Community and the Police Department, and we’re excited to continue this annual tradition.

Be sure to click the link attached and enjoy the game tomorrow! Let’s cheer the Staff/Police on to their first victory while hoping for a safe and injury-free game. Good luck to all competitors!

Did you see a helicopter land at the school? Here’s why! The United States Coast Guard landed on the field for the children to see! This was to honor veterans and the kids were welcome to invite a veteran to the school. A fun and honorable event and we were thrilled to be involved.
