It is a sad day for our Habitat family, as we lost a beloved partner in housing. “One of my favorite memories of President Carter and Rosalynn, was attending a conference in Atlanta, and they both walked onto stage hand and hand to greet all of us Habitat leaders so humbly,” says Executive Director Leanne Prout. “What an amazing, selfless and sincere couple!”

Habitat for Humanity joins the world in mourning the death of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. A champion for affordable and decent housing, he and Rosalynn Carter donated their time and leadership each year to build and improve homes with Habitat around the world.

It has been an amazing year for us here at Jessamine Habitat, also serving Garrard County!!! We ended the year strong, impacting many new families and continuing to serve our Habitat partner families. We were able to add a small repair for a sweet neighbor in need before our year ended. Thank you to our incredible donors for giving over and above this year, giving us the opportunity to love our community well! And thank you to our dedicated volunteers who were able to install safe steps and a new range for Miss W. She was an amazing partner to end our year with, and we look forward to the many new families we will serve in 2025!!

We had a great evening Thursday at the Farm City Banquet, put on by the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce, celebrating the wonderful community of Garrard County! We met many incredible people and look forward to continuing to serve the people of Garrard County, along side of our Jessamine County community!

We had a busy and productive week helping our neighbors with “Rock the Block!” We were able to take a full trailer load (missed taking a picture) of stuff to the dump, along with rocking out some yard clean ups, landscaping, gutter clean outs and power washing! Thank you to those who came out and helped with the projects, and a big thank you to the City of Nicholasville for their support and partnership! We are excited to do another “Rock the Block” this coming Spring!

We had a great time at the Kentucky/Indiana Conference this week in Louisville. We came away having learned new ideas, and are beyond excited to begin implementing them!!!
