Ward County Commission issued a Fire Emergency and Restriction Declaration this morning. One change from previous declarations is "Crop residue and slough burning will be allowed when the Fire Index Rating is “High” with a tilled firebreak encompassing the perimeter of the burn, be in attendance until burn is completed, and Central Dispatch has been notified of the burn at 701-852-0111 option 1".

MONDAY ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA...

Wintry weather is expected to return much of western and central
North Dakota tonight through Monday. 1 to 3 inches of snow is
likely across the northwest and north central, with a medium
potential for accumulations up to 4 inches in the north central.
Further south, from Watford City to Washburn to Jamestown and the
surrounding areas, there is a low chance for light ice
accumulations tonight from freezing rain. Check the latest road
conditions before heading out and give yourself some extra time
for the Monday morning commute.

Heads up! The combination of cold temperatures, wet conditions, and strong winds will lead to extremely hazardous conditions for newborn livestock Friday into Saturday morning across eastern and parts of central North Dakota.
