The executed a 4-mile kit run in freezing temperatures with physical challenges throughout as a platoon competition to build the team and push our limits on Fort Riley, KS. Our platoon leaders and platoon sergeants led their teams through the challenges with accountability and proved that the Iron Rangers, true to our lineage, are physically prepared for the rigors of combat. Always Ready!

On Tuesday, 17 December, the hosted a holiday luncheon for single Soldiers living in the barracks. The 1-16IN Unit Ministry Team organized the event, which fed over 150 Soldiers. Delicious food such as fried turkey, brisket, ham, smoked pulled pork, sides and tasty desserts were prepared and served by the battalion’s officers and NCOs. Thanks to all who made the event a huge success!

Today, the Iron Rangers recognized the accomplishments of CPT Tom Ehrman as he relinquished command of Bandido Charlie Company to CPT Daniel Matzke. conducted physical training this morning with Command Sergeant Major Raymond S. Harris, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. CSM Harris enlisted in the Army in 1996 as an Infantryman and served in D/1-16 IN during his first assignment. CSM Harris later served as the 1st Infantry Division CSM.
