Our care services are available 24 hours a day either on a private care basis or with Local Authority funding within the Wolverhampton area. Woodford Homecare & Support Services are currently recruiting for full and part-time Social Care & Support Workers in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. Successful candidates will be providing care and support to enable people with physical and sensory impa

irments, learning disabilities and elderly people to remain living independently in their own homes, encouraging them to maximise their abilities and overcome challenges. We are interested in encouraging people who use our services to become actively involved in their own care and support plan. If you are interested in applying for employment with Woodford Homecare & Support Services, you must be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate a willingness to work some evenings and weekends. We are committed to supporting employee learning and development with an exciting range of opportunities available and we provide excellent support and supervision. The Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Linda Leach has launched this year’s charity auction – with lots of great items up for grabs and all proceeds going to her chosen charities.

The star lot is arguably a new Samsung 65” 4K smart TV, closely followed in the desirability stakes by a matchboard from the Grand Slam of Darts signed by nine of the players, including tournament winner Luke “The Nuke” Littler. Luke has also very kindly donated an autographed shirt and set of darts which are up for grabs and are a must-have for any darts fan. Also on the sporting theme, there is a Wolves home shirt signed by the club’s all-time top goalscorer Steve Bull. Other lots include Pandora and Thomas Sabo jewellery and perfume by Kenzo.

Mayor Councillor Leach said: “I am raising money this year for the Beacon Centre for the Blind and the Wolverhampton branches of the Samaritans and Age UK. Every penny raised will directly benefit these fantastic local charities, who in turn do so much good work in our community."

The NHS will be exempted from these increases, and as we are all allegedly part of the same system we call upon the government to extend this exemption to Adult Social Care Providers

A petition calling on the Government to do this has been set up and we'd encourage you to sign it and also distribute amongst your networks

We believe the increase in employer National Insurance will put immense pressure on the social care sector, a sector already stretched by funding and staffing issues. We call on the government to review this decision and exempt all social care providers from these added costs.
